About the webinars

Today, many institutions are using Blackboard Collaborate and are uncovering the benefits it provides. Not only is it simple to use, but users have at their disposal a range of tools. But how many users are aware of all the tools that are available and use them with confidence? Join us for this webinar series and take the opportunity to explore and unlock the power of each Collaborate tool.

Who should attend?

These webinars will last for 30 minutes and are aimed at both Collaborate users and prospective users.

  • Academic staff, lecturers, trainers, tutors, those who are using Collaborate for learning and teaching, training and support
  • Managers responsible for using Collaborate, or finding different ways to support staff and students
  • Support staff, administrators and professional services staff who could be using Collaborate to support their roles 
  • Those who would simply like to know more about Collaborate and what it could be used for

Blackboard Client Success Advocate, Europe


Gillian Fielding, BA (Hons), MSc, PGCE, SFHEA, FIITT, is a Blackboard Client Success Advocate. She has worked in education for 30 years in a variety of roles: Digital Skills Manager, TEL Champion, Lecturer, Module Leader, special needs trainer and worked in higher and further education. She can breathe fire. 

Hervé Didiot-Cook

Blackboard Client Success Advocate, Europe


As a Client Success Advocate (Europe), Hervé Didiot-Cook has the opportunity to work directly with current clients especially in the UK, Ireland, France and Belgium and help them to have the best Bb experience possible.  Prior joining Blackboard in November 2016, Hervé has worked in the UK Higher Education for more than 25 years. He held various roles and responsibilities: lecturer in French, head of department, external examiner, community of practice lead... When he is not working, Hervé never misses an opportunity to go the pool where he swims like a herring.

Emma Thompson-Chesters

Blackboard Client Success Advocate, UK & Ireland


Emma Thompson-Chesters is a Blackboard Client Success Advocate covering UK and Ireland, specifically supporting Blackboard ConnectTxt and Collaborate. She previously worked as University College Birmingham’s Learn and ConnectTxt system admin, as well as encouraging and supporting technological adoption in the classroom. Outside of Blackboard Emma is a keen netball player, where you can often find her on a court leaping like a gazelle.
