About Dr. Darcy Hardy


Dr. Darcy W. Hardy is Associate Vice President for                                     Enterprise Consulting at Blackboard Inc.  In this                                         role, she leads a team of experts who work with
institutions as they design, develop and grow their
educational programs, and provides expertise in
driving transformation and managing institutional 
change.

Prior to this, Dr. Hardy spent over 25 years in public higher education, most recently as Assistant Vice Provost for Technology Education Initiatives at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  During her tenure with UTSA, she completed a two-year Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) appointment at the US Department of Labor, where her work focused on the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant program.  She also completed a one-year IPA appointment with the Office of Adult and Vocational Education (OVAE) at the US Department of Education, where she provided expertise in the area of online higher education and the opportunity it provides to low-skilled and other adult workers. 

From 1997 to 2010, Dr. Hardy served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at The University of Texas System and Executive Director of the UT TeleCampus. The award-winning UT TeleCampus partnered with all 15 UT universities and health institutions to offer over 30 fully online programs, seeing approximately 20,000 enrollments annually.

About Hall Davidson

                                    
Hall Davidson has worked from think tanks in
Turkey to classrooms in Tennessee. He has
collaborated with thought leaders including
teachers, superintendents, and departments of
 education. A former K-12 bilingual math teacher
and college faculty member, he left the classroom
to became part of an Emmy-winning team, creating                                     math and technology integration programs. For
forty years, he has been an educational innovator in important waves of change, first in broadcasting, then computers, and now digital learning. His talks blend humor, deep insight, and data from both education and industry and illustrate the big picture with nuts and bolts examples. He has worked with transformational industry groups, education ministries, and with thousands of students through guidance of the nation’s oldest student media festival. Across four decades of work with education, he identifies right now as the most transformative and important time for teaching and learning.

He is a frequent contributor to national education publications, co-authored TechWorks, an internationally distributed classroom technology kit, and co-founded Kitzu.org, a resource of free online kits to encourage project-based learning with media.
